preparation and research

Position papers are due January 30, 2022 by 11:59 pm to each committee's respective email.

Research is an incredibly important aspect of Model United Nations and it's a facet we are proud to promote at Surf City XIX. Every committee includes an extensive Topic Synopsis that provides an overview of the topic and a case study, along with questions and sources to help spark your own research. Additionally, Surf City Model United Nations strongly encourages delegates to submit one position paper per topic. Please reference our position paper formatNote that delegates are still eligible for committee awards without submission of a position paper; howeverthey will not be considered for a research award.
