Preparation and Research

Position papers are due January 26, 2024 by 11:59 pm to each committee's respective email in PDF Format. Research is an incredibly important aspect of Model United Nations and it's a facet we are proud to promote at Surf City XXI. Every committee includes an extensive Topic Synopsis that provides an overview of the topic and a case study, along with questions and sources to help spark your own research. Additionally, Surf City Model United Nations strongly encourages delegates to submit one position paper per topic. Please reference our position paper format (click here). Note that delegates are still eligible for committee awards without submission of a position paper; however, they will not be considered for a research award.
