Secretary-General

Hi everyone! My name is Haley Dang, and I am super excited to serve as one of the Secretaries-General of Huntington Beach High School MUN this year! Throughout my time in MUN, I’ve especially loved exploring healthcare ethics and understanding how policy can shape medicine and the way people receive care. More than anything, though, MUN has given me some of my most distinctive memories and cherished friends, and it's taught me to become a more confident speaker, leader, and collaborator. Outside of MUN, I’ve spent all four years of high school playing on the girls’ varsity tennis team, run several school clubs (my favorite being serving in Key Club!), and conducted molecular biology research both independently and at UCI. In my free time, you can usually find me singing, learning a new dance, hanging out with my friends, or making sure I don’t lose my Duolingo streak! I’m so grateful for the people and experiences MUN has brought into my life, and I can’t wait to meet all of you and see what we accomplish together this year!

Hey howdy hey, my name is David and I am incredibly honored to be one of HBHSMUN’s Secretary Generals in the big ‘26-‘27 school year. My time in this program has truly propelled my character, work ethic, and attitude in the best of ways, and I hope I can help craft that same positive impact for my fellow delegates this season. Apart from MUN, I am a proud Eagle Scout, APA MMET musician, and avid bean-bag tosser (watch out). I have an immense passion for music through piano, drums, guitar, vocals, and digital production and have been working hard to release an EP to chase my dreams of becoming an artist. In my free time, you can catch me going to the movies and pickleballing with my buddies (don’t watch out I’m not that good). Every day I feel as though I walk on the shoulders of our MUN program in how it has taught me to bring more confidence and color into my life, so here’s to another amazing year, delegates!

Hello! My name is Abby O’Rourke, and I’m so excited to serve as one of your Secretaries-General this year! MUN has been such an important part of my high school experience, pushing me outside my comfort zone while giving me some of my lifelong best friends along the way. Outside of MUN, I’m the captain of the girls lacrosse team here at Huntington and am also Vice Prez of Link Crew, which has given me so many opportunities to connect with and support other students. When I’m not on campus, you can usually find me trying new dessert spots with friends or taking a hot yoga class. MUN has helped me become a more confident speaker while giving me a broader perspective on the world around me. I can’t wait to make this year one to remember with all of you!

Hello everyone! I’m Joleen, and I am incredibly honored to serve as one of your HBHS MUN Secretaries General! My three years in MUN have gifted me the most invaluable memories, friendships, and lessons. MUN offers such a unique opportunity to foster both public speaking and research skills while ingraining an awareness for global affairs, and I always find myself inspired by the sheer passion and talent of the wonderful community brought together by this program. When I’m not in the classroom, you can catch me in the pool with my fellow HBHS swim team, attempting to learn a new song on the guitar (cowboy chords only), or with my nose stuck in a book. I could have never imagined how much of an impact MUN would have on my life, whether it be through instilling a sense of self confidence, providing an outlet for creative thinking, or simply introducing me to the people I am lucky enough to call a family. I sincerely hope that your experience with this program is as meaningful as it has been for me, and if you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out! 

Secretary-General of Technology

Hello, my name is Zane Shaiyen, and I’m the Secretary General of Technology for HBHS MUN! I love Model United Nations, since, as those who know me can attest, I love talking. A lot. More than that, I love getting the opportunity to debate real world issues, because, really, they’re the most relevant topics we could ask for. This year, I hope to be able to provide the same MUN experience that I had the pleasure of receiving years ago to all of you wonderful delegates! Outside of MUN, I’m President of HBHS’s NHS Chapter and Science Olympiad Club, and play volleyball as an outside hitter. Whenever I have free time, I’ll normally be watching horror movies with my friends, 3-D printing something, or trying to find niche clothing at thrift stores. I’m looking forward to welcoming you all to our conferences, and I hope MUN gives you the opportunity to spread your wings! And of course, please contact me for any IT issues.

Chief of Staff

Hi!! I’m Chloe, and I’m so excited to be one of this year’s Chief of Staff for HBHS MUN! After three years in MUN, I’ve learned so much, from current events and world revolutions to, most importantly, how to speak up in a room full of people. But more than anything, MUN has given me some of my closest friends and favorite memories. Some of my favorite moments have nothing to do with awards or speeches, like sitting on the bus after an exhausting day at UCLA with my partner or getting to travel to DC and experience something I never thought MUN would take me to. Outside of MUN, I love finding new hiking trails, trying new coffee shops, and reading my never-ending list of books. I also LOVE a great sitcom, especially How I Met Your Mother, The Office, or Friends. I’m so excited to help run HBHS MUN this year, especially through our Instagram (make sure to follow!!), and I can’t wait to see everyone at conferences. Chief of Staff

Hi everyone! My name is Allison DiCarlo, and I am so excited for this upcoming year to be one of your Chief of Staffs! Joining MUN has been one of the best decisions as it has taught me so many life skills within public speaking, and has impacted my life with incredible friendships. Other than the class, I enjoy exploring all of the beaches along the coast, volunteering with the National Charity League, going to yoga, seeing live concerts, and playing both beach and indoor volleyball. I’m always searching for new coffee spots, finding new clothes, or having spontaneous late night drives. Within MUN, it has truly changed my life, giving me unforgettable memories that I will cherish forever, and I hope, as your chief of staff, I can capture all of your new memories through videos and photos! Can’t wait to grow new relationships with all of you this year! 

Senior Teacher - Pringle Period 1

Hello everyone! My name is Marissa, and I am so honored to be one of your Senior Teachers this year. Without a doubt, MUN has been the most rewarding experience I’ve had throughout high school. It has provided me with invaluable research and speaking skills, given me confidence, and taught me how to collaborate with others and listen to different perspectives. It has also provided me with a strong community and some of my best friends. Outside of MUN, I am the co-president of the Mock Trial team, a member of the Varsity basketball team, and the Director of Public Relations for the GIVE ASB Team. I also enjoy volunteering through Key Club, National Honor Society, and National Charity League. In my spare time, you can usually find me hanging out with my friends, grabbing an iced latte, shopping, or listening to music. Since freshman year, becoming a Senior Teacher has been a goal of mine because I have always wanted to give back to a program that means so much to me. I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for the freshmen and to watch their growth throughout the year.

Hi everyone! I’m Sofia Stewart, and I’m so excited to be one of your senior teachers this year! MUN has given me some of the best memories, biggest lessons, and most meaningful friendships of my four years of high school, and I can’t wait to watch it do the same for my freshmen. Outside of school, you’ll probably find me playing soccer, modeling, traveling whenever I get the chance, or spending time with my friends. I also love finding new places to eat, going to Pilates, spending days at the beach, and, of course, my dog Oso. MUN has truly become such an important part of my life, both inside and outside of the classroom. Over the past four years, it has pushed me far outside of my comfort zone, grown my confidence, and shown me that I’m capable of doing hard things. More than anything, though, MUN has given me people and memories that I know I’ll carry with me long after high school. I’m so excited to mentor this year’s freshmen, get to know each of you, and help make this year a positive experience!

Hi! My Name is Lauren, and I am so excited to be one of your senior teachers this year. Being a part of such a strong and remarkable program has shaped me into who I am today and I am so honored to now be representing such a team. Being in MUN has taught me more than just debate, it’s given me amazing friends, lifelong skills, and confidence in myself to reach my biggest goals. Outside of MUN I like to continue my competitive esque by playing high school and club volleyball. When I have free time, I like to hang out with my dog Lexi, listen to music, and most definitely, shop. I am always trying to make the cutest new outfits or have the best playlist, so let me know if you need recs! I also really enjoy baking in my free time, especially making chocolate chip cookies or a chocolate cake (those are my specialties). So overall, I am so excited to be a senior teacher, and I am ready to see where this year takes us!

Senior Teacher - Haney Period 2

Hi everyone! My name is Lucy and I’m so excited to be one of your senior teachers this year! Being in MUN these past three years has taught me more about myself than any other academic experience during and before high school. It really shaped the way that I approach every failure and victory in my life and I feel so grateful to be able to pour into other students who are starting this journey! In addition to MUN, I’m also the drum major of the Oiler Band. When I’m not conducting a tune, however, I’m probably practicing the clarinet, playing the harp, visiting a local coffee shop, or getting lit at a worship night. While it’s bittersweet knowing that this is my last year of MUN, I can’t wait for all of the memories we’ll make and fun moments we’ll have together. Thanks delegates!

Senior Teacher - Haney Period 2

Hey everyone, my name is Emily Hoang, and I am excited to be a Senior Teacher in MUN this year! I am so grateful not only to help, but also to watch the freshmen experience all the wonderful people, lessons, and challenges of MUN for the first time. At school, I am the Varsity Captain of the girls’ basketball team and Co-President of the competitive Mock Trial team. In my free time, I love to read, take care of my plants, spend time in nature, and listen to a lot of music. More than anything, all the MUN in my life has truly opened my eyes to the world beyond my own community. Because of it, I know I want to continue learning ethnic and international studies in college, and hopefully leave a positive impact on others’ lives. Without a doubt, my high school journey would be incomplete without this program, and I hope this year’s freshmen find it just as rewarding and fun too!

Hi everyone! My name is Breana and I’m super excited to be one of your HBHS MUN Senior teachers for the upcoming year. MUN has really shaped my life in the most positive way and I can’t wait to pass down everything I’ve learned over the years. I’ve had to face multiple challenges but at the same time it was so rewarding getting over them as I have been able to make the most memories and genuine friendships. Besides MUN, I love baking and doing arts and crafts and I’m also on the HBHS Girls Tennis team. I enjoy all ranges of different music and absolutely love going to concerts and festivals. I can’t wait to meet everyone and I hope this school year is the most exciting yet!

Senior Teacher - Haney Period 4

Hi everyone! I’m Caitlin, and I am ecstatic to say that I am one of our Senior Teachers this year. For me, I further pursue my love of mentorship positions as a dance teacher at my home and haven Hudson Dance Academy, where I’ve danced and competed for over 13 years. I have a deep appreciation for literature and journalism, working as HBHS Yearbook’s editor-in-chief and a contributing writer for Seacliff and Harbor Coastal Living Magazine. If I’m not at school or dance, I am most definitely at a concert. My mom and I can’t live without music, and have probably been to almost 50 concerts together of every genre. I’ve seen everyone from Taylor Swift to the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears to Conan Gray, Chappell Roan to Death Cab for Cutie. Being in MUN has shaped me immensely—it’s brought me endless memories, friendships, and opportunities that I will cherish forever, but it’s also taught me that young leaders truly do have the innovation to make change. No matter what MUN means to you, I hope that it can be a reminder of the power in your creativity. Let’s have a great year!

Senior Teacher - Haney Period 4

Hello there! My name is Preston and I am honored to be one of your senior teachers for the 2026-2027 year. Since I have been a Freshman, MUN has continuously been one of my favorite parts of high school and I am beyond excited to be a part of senior staff this year. I have made so many memories with some of my closest friends through the travel conferences we attended together in Washington DC and New York, local conferences, and even just doing work together in class. Apart from MUN, I am also President of HBHS Car/MX Club, a member of the National Honor Society, and Varsity 175lb wrestler. In my free time I enjoy working on my 1969 Chevelle, wrestling, dirtbike riding, practicing judo, hanging out with my friends, watching Star Wars, and listening to 90s/2000s emo music! I cannot wait to pass on my knowledge to the future generation of MUN students at HBHS and look forward to an amazing year together!

Senior Teacher - Haney Period 4

Hi! I’m Tessa, and I’m so hyped to be one of your HBHS MUN Senior Teachers for this school year. When joining MUN as a nervous freshman, I never knew that this program would bring me life-changing milestones, challenges, and best friends. Outside of MUN, you could find me playing hacky sack with my teammates on the softball diamond, playing around on CAD (Computer-Aided Design), and growing my passion for engineering and design. Also, I’m a member of other programs on campus, so if you have any questions about HBHS, writing a speech, or life in general, I’m your girl. When I’m not in school, I’m probably at a concert, the gym, or spending my newly earned paycheck on stuff I don’t need. Looking back on my last three years, MUN takes the cake for being the most impactful part of high school. Who knew that this program would not only teach me teamwork and debating world issues, but also self-confidence and how to be a disciplined leader? So, I am incredibly grateful to be able to give back to the program that taught me so much, and I am excited to watch HBHS MUN perform this school year!

Hello everyone! I’m Addyson, and I’m incredibly grateful to be one of your MUN Senior Teachers this year. Since freshman year, MUN has helped me grow in ways I never expected. It’s built my confidence, taught me to speak up, and pushed me to persevere. More importantly, it inspired me to take my advocacy beyond committee. Through MUN, I created Chronically Her, a website working with the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation to raise awareness for women and girls with IBD. Using my voice to advocate for others has become one of the most meaningful parts of my life and has strengthened my passion for creating change. Outside of MUN, I love drinking chai, rewatching Gilmore Girls, hiking with friends, playing field hockey, and finding new music. In the future, I hope to pursue medicine, with interests in gastroenterology or dermatology, to make a difference in people’s lives. I’m so excited to watch you grow into thoughtful leaders. Never underestimate your voice as one idea or speech can spark meaningful change.

Senior Teacher - Haney Period 5

Hi everyone!! I am so honored and very excited to be a Senior Teacher this year. My time in MUN has bolstered my appreciation for genuine connection and diplomacy, which fostered a passion for international relations and working with immigrant communities. I found fulfillment working with the Iranian American Women Foundation, which helps the Iranian diaspora earn scholarships or find connections to potential jobs. At HBHS, however, I am president of Sharing Music to Inspire, Lead, and Empower and Middle Eastern Learning and Traditions, and also volunteer for NHS and Writing Lab. Outside of school, I have been practicing taekwondo since 2015, and earned my 3rd degree black belt two years ago! Along with this achievement, I was invited to start instructing at my studio as well, and witnessing my students’ growth and progress is beyond rewarding. In my free time, I also love to bake, paint, read, listen to music and rot in bed with my dog. In general, I am so excited to meet and work with my freshmen class, and hopefully make their MUN experience as positive as possible!!

Hey everyone! I'm Kayden, and I'm thrilled to be one of the senior teachers this year. The past three years in MUN have given me the opportunity to learn about worldwide issues, meet the most amazing people, and grow as a person. Outside the program, you can find me running with some friends, scouring OC for taco trucks, or training for my next Siqi Elite basketball tournament. I’m so excited to pass on my love for MUN to the future generation. Mamba out.
