The Secretariat

  • Cate Le

    Secretary-General

Hello everyone! I’m Cate, and I’m incredibly honored and excited to be one of your HBHS MUN Secretaries General this year. MUN has truly watched me reach the most impactful milestones, face some of my hardest challenges, and make some of the best memories of my high school journey. Outside of the classroom, I’m actively channeling my passion for music towards supporting cancer research through my own nonprofit SMILE Music, and as a teammate, I foster a great love for the girls’ tennis team and my lab research family at UCI! If I’m not at the school, you’ll probably find me grabbing a matcha with my friends, unapologetically obsessing over Wasia Project (my favorite band), or enjoying a night drive. MUN has become a huge part of my life even alongside my love of music and wanting to study oncology; I never could have expected this program to have taught me so much about connection, self confidence, and our perspective on the world as young leaders. Wherever you are in your own MUN path, I can’t wait to see where this year will take us!

  • Mina Lamarra

    Secretary-General

Hi everyone! My name is Mina, and I’m honored to serve as one of the Secretaries General for the Model United Nations program at HBHS this year. I believe MUN programs equip students with a greater sense of global awareness; strengthens their research, writing, and public speaking skills; make students stronger collaborators; and help students grow into more confident and responsible global citizens overall. My participation in MUN has shaped my future goals and introduced me to an inspiring community that has deeply enriched my high school experience. I’m grateful for the chance to help provide MUN opportunities to students across California. Outside of MUN, I swim on the HBHS team, co-lead a club that engages students with all levels of government, mentor students with disabilities, work in the informatics lab at UCI, and serve as secretary of the Rotary club. In my free time, I love hiking with my three dogs, baking, reading, playing piano, teaching first aid and CPR classes, and learning new languages. If you have questions for me or the secretariat, do not hesitate to reach out! I promise we won’t bite… not even Oatly!

  • Rodrigo Cortes

    Secretary-General

Hi everyone! I’m Rodrigo and I am beyond honored to serve as one of your 2025-2026 Secretaries General! Since freshman year, HBHS MUN has given me a home, a family, and a passion that I treasure deeply in my heart. It has gifted me experiences that I wouldn’t trade for anything else, and taught me invaluable lessons about global affairs and international relations. Outside of MUN, you can catch me playing golf with my fellow HBHS Golf teammates, staring up at the sky and planespotting airplanes flying overhead, or scouring Apple Music for new songs to add to my playlist. After doing MUN for 3 years, I cannot picture a life where I don’t do MUN; it means the world to me to be able to represent HB and its international legacy. From the bottom of my heart, I truly hope everyone’s experience in MUN becomes as memorable and cherishable as it has for me, and if that means reaching out and asking questions, by all means! Feel free to contact any member of the Secretariat with any questions or concerns. On behalf of the Secretariat, as well as the entire HBHS MUN Delegation, I wish you all the best!

  • Sophie Kim

    Secretary-General

Hi everyone! My name is Sophie Kim and I’m beyond honored and incredibly excited to be serving as one of the HBHSMUN Secretaries General for the 2025-2026 school year! This is my second year on senior staff (no, I am not a super senior) but the first time I’ll be involved with organizing conferences. MUN is truly the most valuable program I’ve engaged in throughout my high school career, and I cannot stress enough how incredibly grateful I am to have chosen HBHS. As a middle schooler, I remember attending Future Oiler Night still undecided about switching from my home school (Marina) to HBHS, but when I heard about HBHS’s nationally ranked MUN program, I knew I had to be a part of it. Looking back, I can confidently say I wouldn’t change that decision for the world!

  • Madeline Yang

    Secretary-General of Technology

Hello, my name is Madeline Yang and I'm excited to be one of your Secretaries General this year. I also manage the technological aspects of the program, which means that as you scroll through this website, I can see you. Just kidding. MUN has helped me understand the world, its history, and its people in a more nuanced way, and learn how to speak in front of crowds (and just in my everyday life) without rambling or being immediately rendered mute. I hope you all will find it as meaningful as I did. At HBHS, I am a playwright in APA's Directing and Playwriting department, am involved with the United Christian Club, tutor at the Writing Lab, and serve as the co-president of a political advocacy and community organization club, Leaders of Tomorrow, with the lovely Mina Lamarra. Outside of school, I edit and write for literary magazines, play classical piano, and am a music composition fellow for the LA Philharmonic Orchestra.

  • Lily Greenfield

    Chief of Staff

Hello! I’m Lily Greenfield and I’m honored to be Chief of Staff for MUN this year. MUN has played a significant role in my high school experience and shaped me into the person I am today. I am so grateful for all the opportunities I have had and skills I’ve gained such as public speaking, debating, and viewing conflicts from numerous different perspectives. MUN has motivated me to take on leadership roles outside of the program such as starting a charity club, running to become vice president of ASB, and becoming involved in other activities such as volleyball & NHS. I cannot wait to work with the program this year to make it even more incredible then it already is and look forward to being a part of such a wonderful team!

  • Tori Patz

    Chief of Staff

Hello everyone! I am Tori, and I am one of your Chiefs of Staff. As Chief of Staff, I get to harness my artsy side, so you will see me around taking photos at conferences to document all of the awesome experiences that MUN brings us. Smile for the camera! In addition to MUN, I am president of PressTeen at Huntington Beach Public Library and active in my church community. In my free time, you can find me dancing in Company and Ballet Ensemble, playing pickleball, and hanging out with friends.

Hi everyone! My name is Lana and I'm beyond excited to be a senior teacher for this program that has given me confidence and community in high school. MUN has expanded my view of the world with geopolitics and helped me articulate my speaking, which I’m happy to pass on to the next generation. In school, I take part in APA's Musical Theater Department and teach yoga at the Wellness Center. As for my free time, you can find me social dancing, rollerskating, and thrifting.

  • Allison Vo

    Senior Teacher - Period 3

Hi everyone! I’m Allison and I’m so honored and excited to be one of the Senior Teachers this year. For the last four years, MUN has held a special place in my heart. By being in a competitive environment and learning about complex world issues, I’ve been lucky enough to gain so many opportunities that have helped me grow as a delegate and person. On campus, I’m a part of our school’s GIVE Team, I’m a writing editor for Yearbook, and I’m an actress in APA. Outside of school, I’m usually tutoring math, taking photos on my film camera, reading books, grabbing a matcha, or watching tennis/hockey with my family!

  • Cody Bui

    Senior Teacher - Period 3

Hey everyone, my name is Cody and I’m so excited to be a part of senior staff as one of the senior teachers this year. MUN has always been a part of my life, and the program has done so much for me here at HBHS. Outside of school I enjoy fishing, cooking with my friends, and listening to music on late night drives. I can’t wait for what the future holds in MUN!

  • Kendall Pham

    Senior Teacher - Period 3

Hi! My name is Kendall, and I am honored and excited to be a senior teacher for 3rd period World Geography MUN! So far, it has been an amazing experience talking and connecting to new members of MUN. I am also on the girls varsity tennis team and am the Vice President of the SMILE Music Club! Outside of school I love to crochet, bake and cook. I look forward to an amazing year and final year with this program!

  • Jessie Ross

    Senior Teacher - Period 5

I am Jessie Ross, a senior in my fourth year of Model United Nations. Beyond MUN, I dedicate much of my time to community and global services by helping plan and attend yearly medical mission trips to underserved nations (such as Peru, Ecuador, and Guatemala) where I help provide medical aid and coordinate toy drives for the children of these communities. Outside of academics and public service, I have played softball since I was four, love snowboarding in the winter, and have a passion for travel. In addition to visiting over 25 countries, I have also had the opportunity to explore 21 out of 30 Major League Baseball stadiums as an avid Dodgers fan.

  • Katie Loboda

    Senior Teacher - Period 5

Hello everyone! My name is Katie and I’m so excited to be a Senior Teacher this year. MUN has become one the most important and impactful parts of my life. I love being part of MUN because of the phenomenal and endlessly supportive community and the skills that I’ve gained such as research and confidence. I have been tremendously shaped by getting to learn about global issues and navigate ideas to solve them with others. I absolutely love watching others grow into themselves as delegates, and am so excited to help others achieve success this year! Outside of MUN, I enjoy working in photography for causes I care about and volunteering at Discovery Cube. You’ll find me hanging with friends, obsessing over chai tea, and relentlessly editing photos.

  • Kayla Lee

    Senior Teacher - Period 5

Hi everyone! My name is Kayla and I am so honored to be one of the senior teachers for period 5 this year! My years in MUN have allowed me to grow my collaboration and public speaking skills, as well as overall self confidence. I have met so many amazing people through this program while furthering my passions for wildlife and environmental issues. I am so grateful for the chance to share my knowledge to the next generation of delegates and watch them grow throughout the year. Other than MUN, I am involved in APA orchestra as a violinist, as well as Link Crew. Outside of HBHS, I volunteer at the Ocean Institute in the husbandry department, assist at the Therapeutic Riding Center, and occasionally work at Yogurtland. In my spare time, I enjoy going to the movies, tanning at the beach, shopping, reading books, and working towards getting my scuba certification.

  • Oatly

    Secretary of Canine Affairs

Hi, my name is Oatly, and it is my honor to serve as the Secretary of Canine Affairs this year. I’ve been in MUN for six months now, and all the advisors think I’m the best delegate ever! I mean, can you blame them? I enjoy chicken treats, going on long walks with my dog friends, and guiding my handler Mina. Please email to let me know if there’s anything I can assist you with. I am available for emotional support at conferences, just please ask to ensure I am not working before consulting me. I am a very hard worker and cannot be distracted.
